Fusée Gelée

Following this guide you’ll learn about RCM (Recovery Mode), Hekate Bootloader and Atmosphére (Custom Firmware). Not all Nintendo Switch consoles are compatible with Fusée Gelée, you’ll need one from before the hardware revision (which was released around july 2018).

VERY IMPORTANT BEFORE CONTINUING!
  • It is very rare that users brick their Nintendo Switch while following this guide, but there’s always a chance an unrecoverable brick happens. We are not responsible.
  • Nintendo can and probably will ban accounts or consoles from using online services. This is your responsibility!
  • Always be careful installing unverified / untrusted homebrew, dangerous code that bricks your device exists.
Requirements:

This guide works for all firmware versions on consoles bought or released before July 2018 and focuses on the Custom Bootloader Hekate and the Custom Firmware Atmosphére.

Requirements:

Setting up the SD Card
  • Go to https://www.sdsetup.com
  • Click on Nintendo Switch

If the Switch screen remains blank your device has been patched and cannot run Fusée Gelée.

Backup your NAND!

Before booting into a Custom Firmware it is very important that you create a NAND backup. This is a backup of the internal memory of your console. If during hacking somethings end ups wrong, you’ll be able to restore your backup.

  1. Sent the Hekate – CTCaer Mod payload to your Switch
  2. Use the +/- and power button to navigate through Hekate’s interface on the Switch
    1. + / – = Up and Down
    2. Power = Select
  3. Navigate to Tools
  4. Select Backup
  5. Select Backup eMMC BOOT0/1
  6. When finished remove your SD Card (don’t shutdown Hekate)

Copy the backup to your computer or another safe place. Delete the backup from your SD card.

  1. Re-insert your SD card
  2. Select Backup eMMC RAW GPP
  3. (If using a SD Card with less then 32GB free space, Hekate will provide instructions on copying the backup parts and continuing the process)

Copy the backup to your computer or another safe place. Delete the backup from your SD card.
